Yeah!! Making it count is back :) thanks to Bobbi at Revolution of Love I can link up all my crafty ideas again!

I saw this idea a while ago. Granted the blog isn't in English, but I could tell they were on to something. My nephew turned 1 last month and I thought this was the perfect opportunity to try it out!

First buy a pre-sanded round board and prime and paint it!

Second by a whole bunch of hardware and attach to board!!

Third ... Step back and enjoy!

I am super happy with the finished product. I had a hard time keeping the Man Cub away from it :) I might have to make a second one!

First Day - September

I'm linking up over at Journey to Josie for First Day!

This month was a total fail :( After finally recovering from Whooping Cough the boys caught a cold. Not a big deal but being so close to a lung infection they fell hard. So we spent the day taking medicine, napping, and watching TV ....not very exciting. I only took a few cell phone pics, but here they are.

At This Moment: 3 years and 9 months

August was a big month for us. Man Cub turned THREE and Chunky Monkey turned
nine months ... yup they are growing up, really fast!!!

Man Cub
Man Cub you are such a little man! you still hate pants ... I mean hate, you take them off every chance you get. You learned to ride a balance bike, blow bubbles, ride a scooter, use the remote control (sneaky little guy), and take pictures with mommy's camera. You love visiting Grandma and Grandpa, you love playing with cousins. Your reading/listening skills have exploded; you love it when I read during breakfast or lunch ... your current favorite book is Bubble Bubble by Mercer Mayer. Your favorite foods are hot dog, salami, cheese, yogurt, strawberries, grapes, cucumbers, and anything sweet :) You refuse to eat broccoli and carrots.
(I think you were singing the Etsy Bitsy Spider!)

You are still not a huge talker, but you are an awesome signer (made up word?!?). You watch Signing Time Videos almost everyday, and if you are having a really hard time communicate you always have a sign you can fall back on! You have a contagious smile .. its huge and part of your front tooth is missing :( we aren't sure when it happen, it's just gone. We'll just say it adds character! You love the Seven Dwarfs ... like Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. You sleep with a figurine set Mommy bought at Disneyland before you were even born.

You really are such a grown up little 3 year old man; we love you!!!

Chunky Monkey

My Chunky Monkey is 9 months old!! It makes me a little sad that you are growing out off the baby stage so fast. You are seriously crawling ... one second you are in the living room the next I have to move you out of the bathroom :) You just started pulling yourself up on furniture. You are such a little flirt; any girl will get a huge smile out of you.

You managed to have a good weight gain and move up a size in clothes despite having Whooping Cough!! You love food; your favorites are apples, mango, pears, squash, carrots, and mixed vegetables, you don't like peas. You have the hugest chubby checks and you finally have a tooth!! You got really grouchy for a couple days and then ...pop ... a tooth! So exciting!

The best is how much you love your big brother, so adorable!! You put up with so much abuse ... squeezing, pushing, prodding, kissing, head bumping, and oh so much more!!! but you just smiles through it all because you love playing with Man Cub :)

I love my boys and I can't believe what a fun little family we are growing into!!

Making it Count: Baking Edition :)

I am linking up with Everyday Snapshots for Making it count!

I have been really using the my time wisely and making a ton of desserts lately :) I try to only make one a week; unless there is a special occasion. All of these are so easy and delicious I suggest you check them out!

Funfetti Cake Batter Cookies - A huge hit with the little girls :)

Red Velvet Crinkle Cookies - you NEED a silpat mat or they are dry :(

Better-Than-Crack-Brownies - I don't have any experience with such things, but these are addicting!!

S'more Bars - She uses King Size chocolate bars ... I think it makes the chocolate to thick. So,
I used smaller chocolate bars the second time and the ratio of chocolate to marshmallow was better :)

{single seving} deep dish chocolate chip cookie - this is a dangerous recipe!!! So yummy, so fast, and perfect for a last minute movie night :)

HolyCrapTheseAreAmazing Cookies - I will admit these weren't my favorite, but DH thought they were awesome and took them to share at his work!

Rolo S'mores Skillet Monkey Bread - I have made these a couple times and AMAZING!!! I don't use as many marshmallow or rolos as the recipe calls for and I add a lot more milk to the glaze recipe :)

Looking back at this post I think I have solved the mystery of the
left over baby weight :) oh well, you only live once!!!

Stamping

Man Cub is turning three this week!! I can't believe my adorable baby is growing up so fast :) Over the summer I have started doing "preschool" with him. I put "preschool" in quotation marks because we really aren't being official about it :) Basically he gets to watch one Signing Time(or Potty Time) DVD a day and I put out one activity a day. Some days the activities take a lot of prep work and some days its markers. I set the activity out around 10 and clean it up during nap time, I don't worry if he spends a lot of time on it. It's kinda Montessori-ish in a way ... I don't force the activities! If he loves it he can work on it all day, if not he can move on :)

One of my first activities was stamping. It is a simple skill and he had a ton of fun!

Materials:
Dinosaur Stamps: from Oriental Trading Company (bought at Diddams) $5 for 6 sets of 6
Paper: $5 for a giant pad of generic paper (bought at Big Lots)
