7 months!!!!

I'm a bit late posting these, but my little man cub is 7 months old!! He has grown so much and has such a fun little personality. He can almost sit up, he does the cutest army crawl, he loves rolling across the room, he is a great eater, and he has discovered how yummy toes are.

We are alive!!

Life has definitely gotten the better of me and this blog has suffered. It all started 4 weeks ago with what I thought was the stomach flu, which was then diagnosed as asthma, then re-diagnosed as RSV, and then finally after a week of 102 fever, blood draw, and a chest x-ray we got the final diagnosis of bronchitis. Once we got our little man cub on antibiotics the change was amazing!! He could finally breath easily, sleep and more importantly eat!! It was so sad seeing him so sick; he has always enjoyed his food, but being so sick made eating a hard task. Anyways I snapped some pictures of our living room set-up. It got to the point where going to bed was a joke, so I set up his swing next to the humidifier, got all his medication organized on the coffee table and I got sleep when I could on the couch.

Grandma Laurie

Today is a very important day for my family ... the day my mother was born!!! I am one of those lucky people who can say my mom has always been there for me. She has been a wonderful mother and now she is a wonderful grandmother. You can see it in our little man cubs face that he loves her; whenever she talks to him his little face lights up!! So today I want to wish my mother a very happy birthday!!!

And because every post is better with a picture here is a picture of Grandma Laurie as a cute, chubby baby!

I'm getting married in the morning ...

well I'm not getting married, but my good friend from college did! It was a family only ceremony followed by a cupcakes and hot coco reception. It was so beautiful and they are a wonderful couple. We had to snap a few pictures of our little man cub all dressed up :)

He didn't want to look at the camera; he wanted to eat the flowers!

6 months!!

Our little man cub is 6 months old!!! and since we are wonderful parents we took him to his 6 month check to make sure that he is healthy and document it so we can prove to him that we were good parents when he becomes a punk big kid :) Anyways, he did really well. The poor nurse had quite a challenge though, we went first thing in the morning so he was wide awake and ready to play. Everytime she tried to stretch him out to measure him he wiggled like crazy and started laughing .. we think this might be due to a tickle game we play while changing his diaper. Then when she went to wiegh him he wouldn't stop moving. The scale usually will set on a certain weight if the baby stays still for a second... he didn't stay still, even for a second! So we took some educated guesses and here are the stats: height 29 inches putting him in the 90th percentile and weight 18lbs 4ozs putting him in the 75th percentile!!

My Valentine!

My wonderful husband usually takes our little man cub for a walk to get the mail when he gets home. That way I get a few precious minutes to myself. Well, he was very excited when our little man cub received his very first valentine!! His godparents were so sweet and sent him his own card as you can see he enjoyed it very much (so much that he tried to eat it!).

... and here is the picture that we sent out as a Valentine. Isn't our little man cub adorable?!?!?!

The SwaddleMe ...

is a lifesaver!!!! When our little man cub was 6 weeks old we decided it was time for him to sleep in his own bed. Well, needless to say he totally disagreed with us and put up quite a fight ... until I remembered the SwaddleMe. The SwaddleMe is a bag of sorts that you slip the baby into and velcro them into a swaddle. We swaddle the little man cub up and he fell fast asleep, and has continued to do for the last 4 1/2 months!!!

Anyways, I thought it was so cute that I wanted to get some pictures of our little man cub in his SwaddleMe before he outgrow it. The first picture shows you the steps ... 1. pull out tab, 2. attach left side, 3. attach right side. It is that easy!!

You can tell in this picture that he is a bit confused. I don't usually swaddle him up for no reason, so he is trying to figure out if it's naptime :)
